Notes

A beautiful, canebrake-phase timber rattler. It never gave even so much as a tongue flick until I got within a few feet of it for pictures. I always thought the canebrakes were found only in the coastal plain region of South Carolina, but the area where this snake was found is in the Foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains.
